A KVM VPS (Kernel-based Virtual Machine Virtual Private Server) is a virtualised server that uses KVM hypervisor technology to provide dedicated, isolated resources. At KernelHost, every KVM VPS runs on AMD EPYC™ processors with NVMe SSD storage and DDR4 reg ECC RAM.
What is a VDS?
A VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) is a virtual server where all allocated resources (CPU cores, RAM, and storage) are dedicated exclusively to you. Unlike standard VPS hosting, you never share resources with other users. KernelHost's KVM VPS are true VDS instances.
How fast is provisioning?
All KernelHost KVM VPS / VDS are provisioned fully automatically and are ready to use within 30 seconds of completing your order.
What OS options are available?
KernelHost VPS / VDS support a wide range of Linux distributions including Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, and Fedora. You can reinstall your OS at any time directly from the control panel.
Is there a traffic limit?
All KVM VPS / VDS plans include fair-use traffic with a monthly allowance that depends on the plan, connected via a 2x 1 Gbps uplink. Once the allowance is used up, the speed is reduced to 10 Mbps for download and upload until the end of the monthly billing period. Your server stays online and there are no extra charges. If you need more traffic, simply open a support ticket or use our Unlimited Traffic KVM servers: there you can use as much traffic as you like, even if you need several hundred TB per month.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. All KernelHost VPS / VDS run on a 100% PrePaid basis with no minimum contract period. You can cancel at any time without notice, and your server remains active until the end of the prepaid period.
